The Line Discount Amount and the Total Discount Amount discounts are calculated or returned incorrectly in Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail

Installation information and prerequisites

This hotfix includes updates for four components of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail R2 Refresh, and updates for three components of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail R1. The prerequisites and installation instructions vary by component. Install the appropriate update on each computer on which the affected component is installed.

Important notes Depending on which hotfixes you have previously installed, the Retail Headquarters update may make a schema change in the Microsoft Dynamics AX database. Back up the database before you apply the hotfix.

For the Retail Headquarters update

You must have Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2009 Headquarters installed.
Before you install the hotfix, close Microsoft Dynamics AX, and make a backup of the database. Extract the hotfix files to a folder, and then, in the retailheadquarters subfolder in the extract location, double-click AxUpdate.exe. Follow the instructions in the Setup wizard. When installation is complete, open Microsoft Dynamics AX, and then complete each step in the Upgrade Checklist.

For the Retail Transaction Service update

You must have Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2009 Transaction Service installed.
Before you install the hotfix, open Services.msc, right-click the service, and then click Stop. Extract the hotfix files to a folder, and then, in the retailtransactionservice subfolder in the extract location, double-click AxUpdate.exe. Follow the instructions in the Setup wizard. When installation is complete, return to Services.msc, right-click the service, and then click Start.

For the Retail Store Connect update

You must have Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2009 R2 Refresh Store Connect installed.
Before you install the hotfix, open Services.msc, right-click the service, and then click Stop. Extract the hotfix files to a folder, and then, in the retailtransactionservice subfolder in the extract location, double-click AxUpdate.exe. Follow the instructions in the Setup wizard. When installation is complete, return to Services.msc, right-click the service, and then click Start.

For the Retail POS update

You must have Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2009 POS installed.

Before you install the hotfix, close Retail POS, and make a backup of the store databases. Extract the hotfix files to a folder, and then, in the retailpos subfolder in the extract location, double-click AxUpdate.exe. Follow the instructions in the Setup wizard. When installation is complete, restart Retail POS, and log on as usual.

Restart requirement

You may be prompted to restart the computer after you install the hotfix.

The global version of this hotfix has the file attributes (or later file attributes) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time item in Control Panel.

Validation of the application hotfix installation

For Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail R2 Refresh

To validate the installation of the application hotfix, follow these steps:

• For Retail Headquarters: Start the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 client. Open Retail Headquarters, open Setup, and then open Parameters. On the Version tab, verify that the version is 5.0.1506.1088.
• For Retail POS: Start Retail POS and, on the logon screen, verify that the release number is 5.0.1506.1088.
• For Retail Transaction Service: On the server that is running Retail Transaction Service, in Windows Explorer, locate the Retail Transaction Service installation folder. By default, this folder is located in the following path:
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\50\Retail Transaction Service
  Right-click RetailTransactionService.exe, and then click Properties. On the Details tab, verify that the file version is 5.0.1506.1088.
• For Retail Store Connect: On the server that is running Retail Store Connect, in Windows Explorer, locate the Retail Store Connect installation folder. By default, this folder is located in the following path:
  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\50\Retail Store Connect
  Right-click the service, and then click Properties. On the Details tab, verify that the file version is 5.0.1506.1088.

For Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail R1

To validate the installation of the application hotfix, follow these steps:
